Alin Desert Walker by Storm-legion Alin Desert Walker by Storm-legion
i havnt been posting for a while because of other obligations, but this is another pic i've done, it was for an art compo on another site and now that its over i can post it here

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends is the game that it was to be based on and is a ground breaking rts that instead of the usual fantasy orcs and elves approach has put a more realistic approach to fantasy, there are 3 armies, the Vinci based on the famous leonardo de vinci who use steam and industry to their advantage, the cuotl who follow the "chariots of fire" idea, an alien race that has used their superior technology to rise to positions of power, and are very much aztec/mayan culture. finally the race this picture is based on is the alin, who are based heavily on arabian nights styles, djinni, sandstone structures and magic are their key points

as for my picture it is a desert walker, a sort of footsoldier of the alin, wielding two scimitars that they can throw with great precision as well as the amazing ability to "dissappear" into the desert sands. although they may seem human enough, they are like the rest of the alin, magical entities through and through which sometimes disturbs the minds of onlookers as they bend and twist into shapes they thought not possible

the border and walker were done by hand (i got the idea of the border from another book) and then coloured and enhanced in adobe photoshop elements

hope you like it!
